1. Narwhal. Narwhal is classified under the whale kingdom and is characterized by its signature long tusk found on its head. It is commonly referred to as the “moon whale”. It got its name from its corpse-like color, which the Danish word narvhal means corpse.

2. Pink Fairy Armadillo. Also known as pichiciego, the pink fairy armadillo is the smallest among the species of armadillo. Its scientific name is Chlamyphorus truncatus. They are found in central Argentina and inhabits sandy plains, dunes, as well as scrubby grasslands.

3. Aye-Aye. The aye-aye is a strepsirrhine primate found in Madagascar. It is the only kind of primate that uses echolocation to find its food. It is the world’s largest nocturnal primate that is also characterized by its rodent-like teeth that grow continuously and a special thin middle finger.

4. The Maned Wolf. The maned wolf is the biggest canid that looks like a fox, and is sometimes called a wolf, but is neither of these two. It is usually found in open and semi-open habitats of southeastern Brazil, Paraguay, northern Argentina, Bolivia (east and north of the Andes), as well as southeastern Peru.

5. Tufted Deer. Scientifically known as Elaphodus cephalophus, the tufted deer normally travels alone and is more active at dusk and dawn. It can be distinguished from other species of deer by its prominent tuft of black hair set on its forehead and fang-like canines found in males.
